The Civic Common Redevelopment Strategy is progressing with exciting updates! Building on community input from 2018, this strategy envisions transforming the four-block Civic Common area in downtown Lethbridge into a vibrant, inclusive public space. We are currently in the design development phase. Priorities will include culture, beauty, greenery and walkability.

Join us at the Word on the Street Festival to meet the City of Lethbridge Planning team. Explore project examples, share your thoughts and discover why this project is important for the City of Lethbridge.

The Civic Common Redevelopment Strategy will detail future design and steps for upgrading the area. The region includes City Hall, public recreational facilities and other civic landmarks. We’re exploring new buildings, upgrading existing ones and enhancing public spaces like streets, sidewalks and parks. Key highlights include the potential addition of a Performing Arts Centre and an improved cultural presence in downtown Lethbridge. We also aim to increase the quality and value of pedestrian and gathering spaces.

Our goal is to make the area better for everyone who lives or visits here. We look forward to sharing the latest project updates with you!
