City has meeting with EHS informing of new contract conditions & March 31 deadline.

At this 15 minute meeting, the City was advised that no EMS contract negotiations will take place unless the City agrees, in advance, to pay anything above EHS' benchmark cost. Benchmark cost was not provided and the City was given a deadline of March 31 to decide. A letter was provided after the meeting outlining these conditions.

City Council received an updated from administration on the EHS conditions. Council passes a resolution to continue working with partners and advocate to the Minister for a more collaborative negotiation.

Joint advocacy letter sent to Minister Jones

The seven municipalities that provide integrated fire and emergency services sent a joint letter to Matt Jones, Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services to ask for a more collaborative negotiation and partnership with EHS on contract discussions.

City asks for detailed costing information at in-person meeting with EHS

City administration advised EHS that is requires further information and details to conduct due diligence and proper analysis. Some information was provided but further details and answers continue to be sought by City administration.
