The Henderson Ice Centre will be getting an upgrade. The two-phased construction project will begin in the spring of 2025 and expected completion will be late summer of 2026. This project is part of the Capital Improvement Program 2022-2031, project D-17.
The purpose of the project is to improve the functionality of the facility. The upgrades will include: the addition of four new dressing rooms with private bathroom/shower facilities, improved accessibility, expanding the lobby and renovating the existing washrooms, officials' room and existing change rooms.
Phase 1 of the project, which begins this spring, will focus on constructing the four new dressing rooms which will be built in the south end of the building.
Phase 2 of the project will include changing the location of the front doors and expansion of the lobby. It will also include the renovations to the washrooms, existing change rooms and officials' room.
The construction of this project will be carried out in two phases to minimize disruption to programming during peak usage periods.
