Intersection safety is a critical aspect of our road network, as intersections often pose heightened risks for road users due to the complexity of traffic movements and interactions. Through thorough safety reviews, potential hazards will be identified, existing safety measures assessed, and targeted interventions implemented to enhance the overall safety performance of the identified intersections.
The City of Lethbridge places a strong emphasis on protecting vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and individuals with mobility challenges. These groups often face disproportionate risks at intersections and ensuring their safety is paramount. This safety initiatives align with the city's Vision Zero objectives, aiming to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries while promoting a safe and inclusive transportation environment for all road users.
