Consultation has concluded
The Southern Alberta Art Gallery’s existing building structure poses several operational challenges which restricts access and security, and limits opportunities for broader community engagement, programming, and growth due to the lack of direct access to Galt Gardens via an integrated outdoor space, and onsite food and beverage/catering facilities. This project seeks to address these operational needs, which will, in turn, allow outward-facing community engagement initiatives and a better ability to serve the community.
The project renovations will allow additional opportunities for operational efficiencies and enhancements to the facility. These enhancements will include the addition of an indoor and outdoor food services space, a renewal of interior spaces with design elements focused on safety, security and accessibility, modernization of the gallery space and a building addition to increase capacity and convenience for receiving and storing exhibits.
