After receiving supportive feedback from residents and stakeholders in the area, we’ll be moving forward with the changes to improve safety and reduce congestion in your area. You can see the feedback from the survey in the What We Heard Report to the right under Documents.
What is changing?
The changes will see 11 and 12 Street South between 9 and 10 Avenue South converted into single-lane, one-way streets. In the aerial image below, the red arrows indicate the changes.

When are these changes happening?
To give residents and motorists time to adjust to these changes, they will be implemented in late August. This also gives students and families attending Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School time to adjust for the new school year in September.
What are the benefits of making these changes?
Making these changes will mean:
Improved safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, particularly residents, students and parents.
Improved flow of traffic and ease for on-street parking.
Improved pick-up and drop-off of students at Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School.
How is the City informing residents & motorists?
We will be using a range of tools to communicate these changes as the work is completed:
AFrame signage in the area
Digital road signage along 9 and 10 Avenue South
Lethbridge Loop app notifications
School newsletter & communication channels
