Project Background

This project is part of the 2022 to 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The City of Lethbridge is working with Stantec to upgrade Scenic Drive S from 3 Avenue to Whoop-Up Drive. This means undertaking detailed design and construction of two additional lanes of travel on Scenic Drive S and adding a westbound lane along the Whoop-Up Drive on-ramp, among other changes to improve mobility.

The project consists of detailed design and construction of the interchange in multiple stages:

Stage 1 - 2024/2024 - Detailed Design
• Provide an additional lane on the southbound to westbound ramp
• Widen a section of Scenic Drive South to three northbound lanes and three southbound lanes
• Six permanently mounted variable message boards
